Youth Encouragement Services (YES): Ongoing opportunities

YES has 3 community centers with needs like tutoring, cleaning/repairs, offering classes like computer literacy, etc.  Contact Jerry Herbert—or call Youth Encouragement Services  (YES) in Nashville at (615) 315-5333 or email them.  Also on Wed nights, YES (the McIver Center) will be hosting family nights for their neighbors–with food, worship and a message. They need help with cooking, teaching/playing with the children and generally fellowship.


Back to School Time at YES.

Help to prepare the children for school through the Back to School Supply Drive.  You can fill a backpack or contribute financially. Funds raised will help to purchase any remaining supplies needed.  Return all school supplies to FCC by July 27th.  There will be tubs located in the upstairs connector just outside the worship center and downstairs in the welcome area of the children’s department.

  • School Backpack Kit–what is needed for each child:
    • One Backpack
    • One three-ring notebook binder (2 inch)
    • One package of notebook paper (wide ruled)
    • One spiral notebook (wide ruled)
    • Two folders with pockets
    • Once package of standard #2 pencils
    • One large eraser
    • One box of 24 crayons
    • Once small plastic bottle of white school glue
    • One small bottle of hand sanitizer
    • One – 12″ ruler
  • Contribute financially to YES Supply Drive
    • $25 = Back to School Kit (Backpack and essential supplies
    • $150 = Back to School Kit and the 1st of the month after-school program support (Bible, food, tutoring materials, computer equipment, art & craft supplies, sports equipment, field trips/transportation/and clothing needs.
    • Write Back to School in the memo section of the check or make a donation online at YES

well The Well Outreach Food Pantry

The Wells seeks to meet food assistance needs for the residents of Spring Hill, Thompsons Station and College Grove.  At this time we do this through two programs – our pantry, which provides groceries to families who seek our help, and a backpack program, JetPacks, which provides weekend food for school children in Spring Hill public schools.  We also have a professional counselor who provides counseling services for clients with fees based on a sliding scale.
