October 15 – November 27, 2016

Peter is arguably the biggest hero of the Christian faith. Jesus himself tells Peter that His church will be built on Peter’s shoulders. Peter is a rock and a pillar of the Christian faith. Without Peter we may not know of Jesus today. However, Peter is clearly not Jesus. Just because Peter is a hero of our faith doesn’t mean he is exempt from sin. It doesn’t mean he is exempt from failing. Peter, one of the greatest Christians of all time couldn’t walk on water and denied even knowing Jesus three times. This series will follow the life of Peter through seven accounts. Pay special attention to the mistakes he makes, as well as when he is at his best. You will find that Peter is always at his best when he is pointing people to Jesus. Christians should never put their hope and faith in a Christian leader, but should set their eyes on Jesus, “the author and perfecter of our faith.” And Christian leaders are always at their best when they highlight the way to Jesus.
